Composed of two simple wooden shapes that intersect, the Palabre Chair is an iconic object throughout Africa. Bronze has replaced wood here and fixed the shape, simplifying the lines and playing on the finesse of the material. First, a miniature model was sculpted by Noah, then sent in a plastic box full of water on a bus. The first was made by Salfo Derme in Koudougou, a town located 100km from Ouagadougou. The chair is cast in 2 parts then assembled, as is traditionally the case in wood, before being welded. Due to the security situation in Burkina Faso, the chair was put on a bus each time Ambre came to Ouaga to monitor the welding and finishing. It took almost a year to complete the piece.
