Located in Mexico, Taller Batán specialises in crafting a diverse range of multidisciplinary objects, each possessing a distinctive and expressive aesthetic that narrates a deeply personal story. Taller Batán thrives at the intersection of art, design, and craft, where the boundaries blur and creative possibilities expand. Batán, the birthplace and residence of most of our team, as well as the primary source of our wood, is comprised of two sister localities. At the beginning of our creative journey, God's chair stands as the first of many collaborations between Esteban Fuentes de María and Taller Batan. It is one of our most organic creations, meticulously designed to showcase the inherent beauty of the wood trunks and the exquisite craftsmanship involved. This duality in our work is also reminiscent of the artistic approach of our friend Esteban, a Pueblan painter renowned for his exploration of religious themes and their connection to the natural world.
