Andrés Monnier is a Mexican Artist, born in Guadalajara and now based in Ensenada.
His purpose is to create sculptural pieces to express stories through the synergy between art, design and sculpture. This collection is inspired by Greek Mythology, with natural rock and form at its core. PIECE INSPIRED BY THE MYTH OF SISYPHUS. IN GREEK MYTHOLOGY SISYPHUS WAS A KING WHO WAS PUNISHED FOR SKIPPING DEATH TWICE. HE WENT TO THE UNDERWORLD AND RETURNED TO THE UPPERWORLD BY PERSUADING ANCIENT GODS. AS A PUNISHMENT SISYPHUS WAS FORCED TO ROLL A GIANT ROCK ON A HILL FOR THE ETERNITY. THIS PIECE REPRESENTS THE UPPERWORLD HALF OF THE GIANT ROCK, AND THE FIRE REPRESENTS THE NUCLEUS OF POWER OF SISYPHUS BETWEEN THE TWO HALFS. Available in all standard finishes with custom materials and sizing available upon request.
